Spring at Wheaton Public Library

IMG_6361 (1)

Spring is here!  Although -as I sit and write this there is snow on the ground!

Perhaps you can stop by and catch glimpse of some spring inspired flowers until the real thing comes along.  These works were prompted by the iris that reside in the front beds of our home, and the peony that are just outside my studio doors… These lush, gorgeous pink and magenta peony plants were shared with me by my dear friend, Lori, years ago.  Each spring I am grateful to her for these beauties!

These (and possibly more works to come in the next month or so!) will be up until the end of May, 2018.  Happy Spring!

Sharing Dreaming of Italy

Dreaming of Italy

Dreaming of Italy, Acrylic on canvas, 36″ x 48″ SOLD, giclee available

What art do you have tucked away that may be just the thing to share?

Recently one of my dearest clients decided to move Dreaming of Italy to a very public area of their residence.  In the making of that choice they selected a beautiful frame to compliment both the painting and the room it is now displayed in.  There is no higher compliment to an artist than when a client shares their artwork with others.

(DuPage Framing Center did the beautiful framing.)

With the New Year on the horizon, this seems to be a good word to keep in mind. It is also the title of this a painting inspired by the little bluebird that flew into my life this year. The first one I have ever seen! It was an amazing gift.

Best wishes in the New Year!

New Subjects

Tandem ( my gift to Todd for our 23rd Anniversary)

“Tandem” is an acrylic painting different than my usual subject matter, the landscape. Creating work for a specific individual is a favorite challenge of mine.

My husband is an avid cyclist.  He restored this tandem depicted in the painting, which was a Father’s day gift a few years ago.  This painting was my anniversary gift to him, 23 years this past November!

It has become two gifts in one…
